Salman Khan bail application rejected
24 August, 2007
Today the Sessions and District Magistrate, Jodhpur rejected the appeal of bollywood mega star, Salman Khan against a trial court judgement of last year in which he was convicted by a jail sentence of five years imprisionment for hunting a Chinkara Antelope.
Salman did not appear in the court this morning though he had been directed by the court to do so. Once this became known to the judge, he read out the order nevertheless at about 10.30 a.m. The day was rife with rumours that Salman was in Jodhpur but chose not to come to the court.
At about 5.30 p.m. a Non Bailable Warrant of arrest was issued by the original court which had awarded the sentence of five years.
He will have to surrender to a court which he can well do in Mumbai or in Jodhpur before appealing to the High Court. When and where he will do so is a mystery today.

We have received a copy of the judgement of today which will also be placed on a web site with a link to WTI website after translation into English next week.
